The professional start of Jann Mardenborough‘s career is like something out of a movie. Now in Gran Turismo we get a glimpse of how he turned into a professional race car driver with the initial training through racing video games on a PlayStation.
The Synopsis
Gran Turismo is based on the unbelievable true story of a team of unlikely underdogs – a struggling working-class gamer (Archie Madekwe, “Midsommar”), a failed former racecar driver (David Harbour), and an idealistic motorsport executive (Orlando Bloom, “The Lord of the Rings”). Together, they risk it all to take on the most elite sport in the world. Gran Turismo is an inspiring, thrilling, and action-packed story that proves that nothing is impossible when you’re fueled from within.
From the age of five Jann Mardenborough had the dream of becoming a race car driver. The closest experience was from simulated racing. In 2011, Mardenborough was part of the 90,000 entrants during the GT Academy competition and concluded at third place. That was his ticket to get trained by and reached the win of signing a race contract with Nissan. After his phase with Nissan he has worked as a simulator, as a car development driver and a stunt driver for production companies. Including his own story seen in Gran Turismo.
