Check out my Agatha All Along two episode season finale review and for once with Marvel it was a decent if not astounding final fact. As always I’ll be keeping SPOILER FREE on plot details for this one. If you’ve been thinking you won’t like this series from trailers, I’d say give it a shot. Agatha works so well because the show is getting to create its own rules for Witchcraft. Ultimately the show would be an interesting watch even if it was not attached to the MCU.
As good finale’s do, this two-parter challenges what we think we know about our characters. At the same time Agatha finally breaks with the usual Marvel formula of a CGI fight in the finale episode. We do kinda get a spectacle fight, but it all happens in the penultimate episode. This leaves the actual finale to be something else entirely, which I found quite appealing.

Was it a perfect finale? No, I did have a few issues, minor as they were. I’m not sure the series did a good job with the looming threat of the Salem Seven. Given the flashbacks in the finale to Agatha’s history I’d have thought we’d find out what sets them apart as a genuine threat. I also felt Jen’s overall story was wrapped up a little too neatly compared to others.
The cast has narrowed a little and of the four characters we are left with most time is spent with Agatha herself and second Billy/William. There’s a ‘twist’ to the story, so I read online anyway, I don’t see it though. I also read it got leaked, but I disagree there’s a twist at all. There are explanations for clues left to follow by the series from episode 1. I guess a lot of people didn’t spot them, but some events should not be a surprise. The explanations are interesting and imaginative though. One thing Agatha has going for it is some rewatch value. If only just to fully understand all the little nods that were there.
The show, as with most Marvel projects, ends with a promise of more story to come. Whatever does come next will have a different dynamic to Agatha, but I’ll be keen to see where it goes.
Episode 8 GRADE: B
Occasionally got a bit weird and almost felt like an excuse for some CGI, but it dragged itself back from heading that way.
Episode 9 GRADE: B+
Different, interesting, a few scenes didn’t work for me as much as others.
Season GRADE: B+
Overall one of Marvel’s best TV series and it didn’t break the bank. Look forward to the next instalment.
