The Fantastic Four: First Steps director Matt Shakman confirms the Universe designation and the identity of some cameo villains in the film. We’ve known since very early days that the Fantastic Four do not originate from the MCU’s Earth-616. We also knew that it is not Earth-838, because that Mister Fantastic was killed by Scarlet Witch.
So, in a recent fan event in London, Shakman explains that the movie takes place on Earth-828. What the eventual fate of the 828 Universe will be remains to be seen? I think we all know the FF will stick around the 616 Universe post-Secret Wars (if it’s called that?), so who know what will happen to their world?
One thing I hope they do with the post-Secret Wars MCU is start a technological leap forward. Now Reed is in the main Universe with all his ideas, we should really see the MCU move into a more fantastical Universe, even farther beyond reality.

In the same event, it was confirmed which cameo villains we will meet in the movie that are from this 828 Universe. The main antagonist is of course Galactus, but we had heard some other villains show up in the first act.
We knew about Red Ghost and Mole Man already. However, also confirmed to appear are Puppet Master, Mad Thinker, Diablo, and Wizard and one of Red Ghost’s Apes.
Some lucky folks got to see 30 minutes of footage from First Steps. From what I’m hearing online, not just example below, they loved it. However, there is an embargo remember.
Not sure how much I'm allowed to share, but after tonight's footage screening, I'm confident in saying that #TheFantasticFour: First Steps will be THE movie of the summer. My favourite superhero team, finally done right. @MarvelUK pic.twitter.com/QSxPpDqbYj
