Elizabeth Tulloch Talks About The New Superman Family | INTERVIEW

While the DC family has expanded with the new Superman film so have the group of fans! Milk+Bone and Superman teamed up to celebrate Superman’s sidekick Krypto. It was a celebration of over 100 attendees and over forty doggies that also got to preview the film outdoors with Rooftop Cinema Club in Downtown Los Angeles. The two partners were thoughtful enough to donate forty beds and bowls to a local animal shelter.

Among the guests was Elizabeth Tulloch who the past December closed her chapter portraying Lois Lane in CW’s Superman & Lois. Tulloch was accompanied by her husband, David Giuntoli (“A Million Little Things”) and of course her four-legged child. I had the opportunity to briefly speak to her about the support for the DC family, Rachel Brosnahan playing the new Lois Lane, new upcoming projects and more!

Nancy Tapia: Elizabeth, congratulations.

Elizabeth Tulloch: Thank you.

Nancy Tapia: Elizabeth, congratulations on the many things that you have coming up. But first, let’s talk about your support for Superman because it’s like a family, right?

Elizabeth Tulloch: It’s just being a part of the DC Universe and wanting to support James Gunn and Peter Safran. Also, we rescued a puppy back in March, and he loves Milk-Bone. That’s his favorite training treat. So when this opportunity came up, I thought, “Oh, my gosh. This is going to be so cute with 40 dogs here.”

Nancy Tapia: Speaking of James Gunn he’s shared Krypto being based on his rescue and a little destructive.

Elizabeth Tulloch: Yes, his rescue dog Ozu, yeah.

Nancy Tapia: So what’s been your experience?

Elizabeth Tulloch: Well, Marvin’s still very tiny. He’s only about five and a half months old. And what happened was during the wildfires, his mom had been dumped pretty pregnant. I’m assuming the family was evacuating, and did not want to dump her, but it was a very scary situation for a lot of people.

I had reached out to the rescue saying, “I could foster Marvin’s mom.” And they said, “We just found a foster, but would you want to adopt one of her puppies when they’re born?” And that’s what happened. It had been five years to the month since we had lost our last dog, and I was really attached to him. I didn’t know when I was going to feel ready again to get another dog, so it worked out. He’s a feisty little puppy, but he’s a really good boy.

Nancy Tapia: They’re definitely a bundle of joy.

Elizabeth Tulloch: Yeah, for sure.

Nancy Tapia: You recently closed the chapter with Superman this past December. How do you feel? There must’ve been a mix of emotions. Where do you stand now with that?

Elizabeth Tulloch: I mean, I just feel grateful that we got to finish it out. Even just having that short and final season I think was really important for the fans. And everybody seems to really have liked the series finale. Of course, I’m just very grateful and honored to have been one of the Lois Lanes throughout history and to be able to pass the baton to Rachel Brosnahan. I’m sure she’s going to do a great job.

Nancy Tapia: Have you talked to her?

Elizabeth Tulloch: No, I haven’t.

Nancy Tapia: If you were to talk to her, what would you want to know about getting to play the same role you did?

Elizabeth Tulloch: I think anyone who’s cast as Lois is probably going to do a little bit of research. Also, like I’ve mentioned, Lois Lane is iconic because she was a working woman, and she was very dogged, and determined, and had work ethic, And just uncompromising in her pursuit of truth as a journalist. So, I am sure Rachel’s going to just kick butt at portraying all of those qualities.

Nancy Tapia: Well, to wrap up so you can go ahead and enjoy your evening. Anything you can share about what you have coming up? You shared The Pirate King.

Elizabeth Tulloch:

Yeah, The Pirate King, and then, I have a movie called Nickels coming out in a few months.

Nancy Tapia: With Rob Riggle

Elizabeth Tulloch: Yeah.

Nancy Tapia: How fun was it to work with him?

Elizabeth Tulloch: Oh my gosh. He’s the best. I would do everything with him if I could. He’s wonderful.

Nancy Tapia: Well, thank you so much for your time. Congratulations on what you have coming.

Elizabeth Tulloch: Thank you so much.
