Penguin star Colin Farrell confirms once again that he only has a small role within The Batman Part II starring Robert Pattinson. Farrell had a smaller, side role in The Batman, but he was centre stage for the phenomenal Penguin TV series.
Farrell explains the situation, admitting he hasn’t actually read the completed script yet. Speaking with TheWrap, Farrell said,
“I don’t have many scenes, I don’t believe, but I’ll be there for whatever. Matt Reeves is so brilliant. I don’t know what the story is yet,” said Farrell.
It’s worth remembering that Farrell’s Penguin only had a small role in the first movie as well. I think it was around 5-7 minutes of screen time in total. All this really means is that though Penguin (Oz) is around, he is clearly once again not the main villain of the film. One wonders if a third trilogy capper may feature Farrell as the main villain? As for Penguin, well it was a huge success, so there’s been talk of exploring ideas for a second season for a while. We await a decision either way.

The Batman Part II is set to release on October 1st, 2027 and production could begin by the end of this year. So far there is no rumors on plot outside that potentially debunked Robin rumor we shared recently. The only actors we can bank on being in the film at this point are Pattinson and Farrell, though I’d expect Jeffrey Wright is back as Gordon at the very least.
