Actor Warwick Davis (Harry Potter) will play Professor Flitwick, AGAIN in the Harry Potter TV series currently filming. Most of the main cast have already been announced and filming is underway in London. The announcement was made for the ‘Back to Hogwarts’ day celebrations (the day Hogwarts students return to school). Also included are some other minor casting roles.
Elijah Oshin as Dean Thomas, Finn Stephens as Vincent Crabbe, and William Nash as Gregory Goyle. Sirine Saba is Professor Pomona Sprout, Richard Durden as Professor Cuthbert Binns, and Bríd Brennan as Madam Poppy Pomfrey.
One role Davis won’t be reprising in the series is that of Goblin banker Griphook. Leigh Gill will take on the role of Gringotts Bank’s Griphook in the series. I wonder if this is in part due to how much extra screen time one would expect Davis to get as Flitwick in the series compared to the films?
You can see images of the new cast members below. Davis image is in the header as he appeared in the movies as Flitwick and as you can see he had quite different looks throughout the movies.

The only role I can think left to be cast at this point is Voldemort. Rumor is, he has been cast for Season 1 flashbacks and HBO want’s to keep it a secret.

As for David returning? For me it just adds to the ‘what’s the point’ of this series. There’s been criticisms already that everything is just going to be the same as the movies, using the same actors doesn’t help. I’ll watch Season 1, but I already know what’s going to happen. I can read the books whenever I like and the movies still hold up. The only time I might start getting into this TV version is when they get to book 4 onwards because so much had to be cut form the films.
The series is written and executive-produced by Francesca Gardiner. Mark Mylod will executive produce and direct multiple episodes of the series for HBO in association with Brontë Film and TV and Warner Bros. Television. The series is executive produced by J.K. Rowling, Neil Blair, and Ruth Kenley-Letts of Brontë Film and TV, and David Heyman of Heyday Films.
Harry Potter premieres on HBO in 2027.
Let us know what you think below as Warwick Davis is cast again as Professor Flitwick in the Harry Potter series?
