Always Yours, Never Mine, a romantic drama starring Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto, opened in Philippine cinemas on September 30, 2026. It reaches U.S. and Canadian theaters on October 23, with more countries to follow through November 1. ABS-CBN Films/Star Cinema is releasing the film, directed by Cathy Garcia-Sampana, the filmmaker behind Hello, Love, Again, and written by Vanessa R. Valdez.
Garcia plays Apollo, and Barretto plays Luna, two people whose lives keep crossing over three decades. Each time they meet, they are different people, shaped by new seasons of life. The film asks whether love can survive time and the changes it brings.
The film reunites Garcia and Barretto, known to fans as “JoshLia.” They were last seen together in the 2024 box-office hit Un/happy for You, their first project as a pair in several years.
The supporting cast includes Chanda Romero, Karen Reyes, Migs Almendras, Paulo Angeles, Joy Barcoma, Bob Jbeili and Bianca Umali. Ina Raymundo, Franco Laurel, Reign Parani and Jan Silverio complete the ensemble.

LRM Online’s Gig Patta spoke with the JoshLia pair, Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto, in another romantic film, Always Yours, Never Mine.
Joshua Garcia first reached a national audience in 2014 as a housemate on Pinoy Big Brother: All In. He began acting the next year in the afternoon series Nasaan Ka Nang Kailangan Kita.
His rise came fast in 2016. A supporting role in Barcelona: A Love Untold earned him a FAMAS nomination. That same year, he starred with Julia Barretto in Vince and Kath and James and won New Movie Actor of the Year at the PMPC Star Awards. The film launched the pairing fans call JoshLia, followed by Love You to the Stars and Back (2017), I Love You, Hater (2018), and the teleserye Ngayon at Kailanman (2018–2019).
Garcia also proved himself in drama on his own. He won Best Drama Actor at the PMPC Star Awards for The Good Son (2017–2018). He went on to lead The Killer Bride (2019–2020), Viral Scandal (2021–2022), and Mars Ravelo’s Darna (2022–2023). In 2023, he starred in Unbreak My Heart, the first drama co-produced by rival networks ABS-CBN and GMA.
After reuniting with Barretto in Un/happy for You (2024), he starred with Anne Curtis and Carlo Aquino in Netflix’s Philippine remake of It’s Okay to Not Be Okay (2025). In May 2026, he led the Prime Video romance-suspense series Love Is Never Gone opposite Ivana Alawi.
Julia Barretto started as a child actress in Gulong ng Palad (2006), then played Anna in the fantasy series Kokey (2007).
Her first lead role came in Mirabella (2014), which ranked among the most-watched shows of its run. Her pairing with Joshua Garcia then became one of the biggest draws in Philippine film. Vince and Kath and James (2016) earned about ₱123 million, and Love You to the Stars and Back (2017) about ₱112 million domestically. The two also appeared in Unexpectedly Yours (2017), I Love You, Hater (2018), Ngayon at Kailanman (2018–2019), and Block Z (2020).
In September 2020, Barretto left Star Magic for Viva Artists Agency. Her Viva work includes Between Maybes (2019) with Gerald Anderson, the horror film Bahay na Pula (2022), the romance Expensive Candy (2022), and the series Secret Ingredient (2024). Her honors include two FAMAS Awards, three Box Office Entertainment Awards, and an Asian Television Awards nomination.
She reunited with Garcia in Un/happy for You (2024), and in May 2025 she joined the noontime show Eat Bulaga! as a co-host. Always Yours, Never Mine is their second film together since the reunion.
After its Philippine debut on September 30, the film rolls out worldwide over five weeks. It opens in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Australia and New Zealand on October 22, followed by the United States and Canada on October 23. The United Kingdom and Austria get it on October 31, and Spain, France and Italy on November 1.
Garcia and Barretto will attend special screenings in Europe. In London, they will be at Genesis Cinema on October 31 for screenings at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. In Madrid, they will appear at Cine Palacio de la Prensa on November 1 at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. All times are local.
