Dolph Lundgren Discussed Why The Negative Spin To Fame In Dolph: Unbreakable | INTERVIEW

The star actor, Dolph Lundgren opens up about his childhood and how it led to how he dealt with fame in Dolph: Unbreakable documentary. An escapist behavior that was a double-edge sword, while it helped give him the drive to grow professionally he also took the physical destruction every time he had a chance.

The Synopsis 

DOLPH: UNBREAKABLE is a raw and revealing portrait of the action icon Dolph Lundgren. From a troubled upbringing in Sweden to global superstardom, the film explores Dolph’s hidden battles — including childhood trauma, chronic injuries and a brutal cancer diagnosis — and his relentless drive to survive and inspire. Through a medley of nostalgic home videos and archival photos, captivating interviews with comrades the likes of Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jean Claude Van Damme and endlessly quotable clips, Lundgren delves into his life before and after the spotlight, and through his personal accounts, the larger-then-life superstar illuminates fans to the battles he waged in his head, heart, and body throughout his utterly fascinating lifetime on-and off the big screen.

In Sweden, Dolph Lundgreen found martial arts at a young age as a way to cope from a painful upbringing. Right before attending Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston life took him to New York where he began modeling to make extra money and that led him to acting. His debut was in 1985 for a small part in James Bond, A View To A Kill. That same year came the role that gave him the unexpected international recognition, as Drago in Rocky IV. Followed by his role as He-Man in the first live action film of Masters of the Universe in 1987. Since then he has been in several feature films like Aquaman and Expendables. One of his upcoming films is Holiguards Saga: The Portal of Force starring actor Kevin Spacey who is also the director.

Yesterday I was briefly connected with Dolph Lundgren via Zoom to discuss his release of Dolph: Unbreakable. I asked him about the negative effect of fame coming from escapism behavior. Also how cancer may have come as a savior into his life and being more conscious about selfcare.
