It looks like “Jupiter Ascending†will not make its arrival next month on July 18.
Variety has reported that Warner Brothers delayed the Andy and Lana Wachowski’s project to next year on February 6.
According to Dan Fellman, the WB domestic distribution chief, the directors needed more time to complete more than 2,000 special effects shots in the film.
The Wachowskis wrote the script that will star Channing Tatum, Mila Kunis, Douglas Booth and Sean Bean.
The story is set in the future, in which the Queen of the Universe targeted a human woman for assassination who has the destiny to end the Queen’s reign.
This $150 million film is scheduled to open on the same weekend next year with Lionsgate’s “Mortdecai†and Universal’s “Seventh Son.†Ironically, “Seventh Son†was previously a project between Legendary Entertainment and Warner Brothers before they parted ways.
