A Quiet Place Part II Has Wrapped Production

In today’s day and age, there seem to be fewer types of movies that can actually survive a theatrical run. Few mid-budget films seem to work, and what we’re often left with are blockbusters and horror movies, outside of some token theatrical releases. Sure, there are others, but by and large, the successes often hinge on high concept ideas.

Such was an idea for A Quiet Place. Directed by John Krasinski, this movie captured the imaginations of theatergoers around the world. Off its $17 million budget, it took in $340.9 million, which is more than enough to justify its existence.

The studio pushed for a sequel, and while hesitant to take it on at first, Krasinski was convinced by his wife and co-star to make one. Now, that film has just finished production, as indicated by a new post on Twitter.

There are no real details on the plot just yet, but Krasinski has expressed his desire to create a film that is more of a “widening of a world” than a direct sequel. He likes to think of it as a “continuation of living in that world,” which I think is the right approach.
