A Quite Place 2 To Delve Into Monsters’ Origins

Okay, so I’m a little worried here. Horror is a tough thing to get right. Sure, the budget required for the things is relatively minimal compared to a lot of other genres, but as far as getting it right? That’s tough. But one aspect that certainly helps is that if there’s an air of mystery to it. We don’t always want answers to the questions we have because what we imagine tends to be much better than anything anyone else can come up with — even the filmmakers.

Enter A Quiet Place, a tense horror-thriller that manages to work on a few different levels. One level is the mystery surrounding the monsters. How did this world get this way? So many questions to be answered that I can imagine. Do I really want any answers, though? Well, we may get it if actor Bryan Tyree Henry (who will be starring in the sequel in an unknown capacity) is correct.

“I think that we’re also going to get a few answers to the origin of where and how this whole thing happened. I think that people want to know that. But I think you’re just going to see another side of it…more of humanity that survived this thing in this next story.”

Luckily, it doesn’t sound like we’ll be getting the whole story here. Like, we won’t be getting Solo: A Star Wars Story granular with the details we get. Just SOME. I think I can live with there just being a few questions answered, so long as we still have more mysteries.
