Actor/Puppeteer Jack Parker To Perform H.E.R.B.I.E. In The Fantastic Four: First Steps | Barside Buzz

Actor/puppeteer Jack Parker is to perform the role of H.E.R.B.I.E. in The Fantastic Four: First Steps. The information on this casting came initially from TCC. However, since then it seems like Parker has updated IMDB. Curiously naming the picture as The Fantastic Four: First Contact? I’m not sure if that’s just a mistake on Parker’s part? Let’s assume so. Or, it could be a fan taking the mickey.

Here is what TCC had to say.

‘We at The Cosmic Circus have learned that British actor and puppeteer Jack Parker will be responsible for bringing H.E.R.B.I.E. to life for the upcoming Fantastic Four film. Some of his previous credits include Pip in The Acolyte, Shrinker in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, and other credits in forthcoming projects like Andor season 2, How to Train Your Dragon, and Snow White.’

‘Our sources were able to exclusively share with us that H.E.R.B.I.E. is, in fact, a practical puppet on the set of The Fantastic Four: First Steps. The puppet has reportedly “interacted in sequences with the First Family, similar to how Star Wars approaches its interactions with droids like C-3PO, R2-D2, and BB-8.”’

One thing the outlet stated was that they have no idea whether Parker will voice the character or not. However, I do think Parker voicing the role is highly unlikely. I would guess Parker will play the robot on set whilst a more established actor voices the role. I’m still wondering whether it could be Natasha Lyonne? Genuinely no rumors to support that is the case. However, equally none that go against this. Lyonne’s role is unknown and she’s finished filming, that’s all we know for sure at this time.
