Agatha Episode 6 Review – Flashback Episode

Here's my Agatha All Along Episode 6 review and this week, it's the flashback episode.

Here’s my Agatha All Along Episode 6 review and this week, it’s the flashback episode. Which, to be fair makes a lot of sense given how the previous episode ended. As always, I will be keeping SPOILER FREE in this review, which may be trickier this week.

Last week we finished on a bit of a cliff-hanger, as Teen’s sigil was broken and another death happened in the group, maybe even more than one. Therefore Episode 6 focuses on Teen/William/Billy. There’s also a fair few connections to WandaVision, especially it’s finale, as you’d expect. We spend time finding out how Teen ended up where he was at the start of Episode 1. However, one of my favorite parts of this week’s episode was seeing Episode 1 from a point of view other than Agatha’s. It was rather fun I felt seeing how crazy Agatha really was.

Episode 6 does not move the plot inside the Witches Road along much. In fact in terms of the timeline of this episode it essentially covers about 5-10 minutes after the previous episode only. The majority of the runtime is us catching up with Billy’s story and I think a few fans were slightly annoyed by that, at least from the online chat I’ve been involved in.

I admit that Episode 5 is not quite as fun as some of the previous episodes. Yet, I do think this flashback episode was needed to understand how Billy has gotten  here in the first place. Was it any good? Well, I liked some of it, and some of it was a bit less interesting than previous weeks. I have no issue with Billy as a character. I just find the older witches far more entertaining to watch. Almost all appear in some fashion here, but in smaller doses. The best parts of Episode 6 are when Agatha is present. When she’s not around the show is simply less fun and a tad more serious.

Overall then, I think Episode 6 may be my least favorite of the Season so far. However, there were some moments in this episode which were actually some of  favorites so far. That makes it tricky to review as a standalone. Therefore, on balance, I will go for…

GRADE: B-

That equals the lowest grade I’ve given for an episode of this series so far. Still B- is not a bad grade in my mind and I’m still enjoying this show more than a lot of recent Marvel TV.
