In comedies, good-looking nannies seem to tear families apart. For BET+’s First Wives Club, Angel Garet plays the male nanny for a couple and things do get awkward—all to a prior relationship with one of the wives.

First Wives Club returns for a second season in the streaming-only service of BET+. This is a successful reboot of the 1996 hit film that features a diverse cast.

Here’s the synopsis for the second season:

The pressures of new jobs and new loves are introduced in the second season of the First Wives Club as Bree and Gary deep dive into rekindling their marriage, which is complicated by Bree’s big promotion and the introduction of a sexy hospital administrator. Meanwhile, Ari struggles with trying to balance working in Los Angeles temporarily and her long-distance relationship with David as he’s busy fulfilling his first term as State Senator. After starting her own record label, Hazel attempts to sign her first artist while returning from her world tour with a sexy plus one. At Ari’s request, hazel and Bree welcome a new friend, Jayla, into their clique. Season two finds the newly minted quartet navigating the pressure of their professional lives and evolving romantic relationships through the enviable bonds of their friendship.

The cast includes Jill Scott, Michelle Buteau, Ryan Michelle Bathe, Michelle Mitchenor, RonReaco Lee, and Mark Tallman. Essence Atkins, Gary Dourdan, Jordan Carlos, and Mikhail Keize will join the season in recurring roles.

LRM Online’s Gig Patta spoke with actor Angel Garet, who is re-introduced as the male nanny hired for the children of Bree Washington (Michelle Buteau) and Gary Washington (RonReaco Lee). The character, Jesus, was introduced for an episode in the first season as a one-time fling with Bree Washington. In this season, Bree is divided on Jesus’ hiring, but he ends up helping their marriage and family.

Angel Garet fell in love with acting ever since an uncredited extra role in The Hunger Games. He has been on several television series and movies, including Sangre Negra and The Count of Capistrano.

First Wives Club is now streaming on BET+.
