Apple TV+’s Presumed Innocent | Nana Mensah and O-T Fagbenle On Justice Definition in Courtroom Drama Series

Renowned creator David E. Kelley makes a triumphant return to the small screen with Presumed Innocent, a compelling courtroom drama, Exclusivelyfor Apple TV+.

This intense series revolves around a man trying to prove his innocence with many twists and turns after a very close colleague was murdered under mysterious circumstances.

The series stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Ruth Negga, Bill Camp, O-T Fagbenle, Chase Infiniti, Nana Mensah, Renate Reinsve, Peter Sarsgaard, Kingston Rumi Southwick, and Elizabeth Marvel.

Here is the official description of the series:

Starring Gyllenhaal in the lead role of chief deputy prosecutor Rusty Sabich, the series takes viewers on a gripping journey through the horrific murder that upends the Chicago Prosecuting Attorneys’ office when one of its own is suspended for a crime. The series explores obsession, sex, politics, and the power and limits of love, as the accused fights to hold his family and marriage together.

LRM Online’s Gig Patta chatted with two of the series stars, O-T Fagbenle (Nico Della Guardia) and Nana Mensah (Det. Alana Rodriguez), about their roles, the sense of justice and acting in the courtroom scenes.

O-T Fagbenle is best known for playing Luke in the Hulu series The Handmaid’s Tale, for which he received an Emmy nomination. In 2022, he was portrayed as Barack Obama in The First Lady. He started his career as a musician in theatrical stage acting with various companies and festivals. He then appeared in several television productions, including As If, Grownups, Little Miss Jocelyn, Material Girl, and Looking. On the film side, he made his film acting debut with 2006’s Breaking and Entering and is best known on film with Marvel’s Black Widow as Rick Mason.

Nana Mensah is best known for her roles in 13 Reasons Why, An African City, New Amsterdam, Bonding, and The Chair. She made her directorial debut in 2021 with Queen of Glory, a comedy-drama about a Ghanaian-American woman inheriting a Christian bookstore in New York City.

Presumed Innocent makes its debut globally on Apple TV+ starting Wednesday, June 12.
