In geekdom, minorities tend to be left out of storied conversations regarding video games and comic books. In the off-shoot one-shot episode in the Apple TV+ series Side Quest, “Pull List” episode follows a few comedic hours in a black-owned comic book store as the owner and its patrons await the latest comic book adaptation tied to Mythic Quest.

An expansion of the Mythic Quest universe, Side Quest explores the lives of employees, players, and fans who are impacted by the game in an anthology format. The series stars Rob McElhenney, Anna Konkle, Derek Waters, William Stanford Davis, Bria Henderson, Rome Flynn, Leonard Robinson, Gary Kraus, Annamarie Kasper, Esai Morales, Shalita Grant and many more in leading roles across each installment.

LRM Online’s Gig Patta chatted with the cast of episode two of “Pull List” which included Shalita Grant, Bria Henderson, and William Stanford Davis, about this subworld of Mythic Quest, comic books, their synergy, black-owned entrepreneurship, and their inner geek.

William Stanford Davis is best known currently for playing the school custodian, Mr. Johnson, in the ABC sitcom Abbott Elementary, which earned him a nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series at the 54^th NAACP Image Awards and also won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series. His other credits included recurring roles in the Showtime series Ray Donovan and the Apple TV+ series Swagger.

Shalita Grant is best known for playing NCIS Special Agent Sonja Percy on NCIS: New Orleans. Her other credits included Mercy Street, You, Santa Clarita Diet, and Search Party. In 2010, she graduated from Julliard School with a B.F.A. in Drama. She was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play in 2013 for her performance as Cassandra in Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike.

Bria Henderson is known for her role as Dr. Jordan Allen in the television series The Good Doctor and her role as Margaret Sloan in the television miniseries Mrs. America.

Side Quest premieres on Apple TV+ globally on Wednesday, March 26, with all four episodes.
