It’s been a topsy-turvy time for Superman fans. Within the last few days news struck that Superman star Henry Cavil is out as Superman. While I am not sure what you all thought of Cavill’s performance. I thought it was a marked improvement over Brandon Routh. No matter how you feel about it, Superman has been damn near mythologized by now. So whatever actor playing him better come ready to fill those famous red trunks.
Now I know Warner Bros is rebuking claims their star is out of the role, but that didn’t stop fans from tossing names of potential replacements against the wall. Personally, I hope Cavill sticks around for a while longer and gives us a few more films. Unfortunately, with the state of DC films, that might be impossible. Negotiations for Cavill to cameo in Warner Bros Shazam film fell apart. You may recall The Hollywood Reporter broke the news last week. Word on the block is that Cavill was barely offered a two-line cameo. Oye!

Unfortunately for DC fans, the fate of Superman is in jeopardy. DC appears refocused and has zeroed in on another Kryptonian: Supergirl. Still, it hasn’t stopped fans from voicing their opinions on recasting the boy scout that stands for truth, justice, and the American way. With names brought forth from the likes of Black Panther’s Michael B. Jordan, The Town’s John Hamm, The Man From U.N.C.L.E’s Armie Hammer, and even Jumanji’s Dwayne Johnson.
Now Arrow actor Colton Haynes has taken to Twitter and chimed in on who he thinks should take up the Superman mantle. Drum roll please. Wouldn’t it be great to see a gay actor play Superman? Colton Haynes thinks so. Check out the tweet below.
Wouldn’t it be really incredible to see an out gay actor cast as Superman? @MattBomer has my vote!❤️
