HBO’s Succession had a big night at the Astra TV Awards with five wins on the television side with Prime Video’s The Boys earning six awards with their superheroic achievement.
Members of the Hollywood Creative Alliance with filmmakers, creatives, critics, and journalists descended to the Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles to celebrate the best of television, cable, and streaming entertainment for the Astra Awards 2024.
Succession earned the Best Cable Drama Series, Best Actress in a Broadcast Network or Cable Drama Series, Best Supporting Actor in a Broadcast Network or Cable Drama Series, Best Writing in a Broadcast Network or Cable Drama Series, and Best Directing in a Broadcast Network or Cable Drama Series.
On the over-growing streaming realm, The Boy knocked out their competition with Best Supporting Actor in a Streaming Drama Series, Best Streaming Drama Series, Best Directing in a Streaming Drama Series, Best Actor in a Streaming Drama Series, Best Casting in a Drama Series, and Best Stunts.
On the comedy side, ABC’s Abbott Elementary got four wins that included Best Broadcast Network Comedy Series, Best Actress in a Broadcast Network or Cable Comedy Series, Best Supporting Actor in Broadcast Network or Cable Comedy Series, and Best Guest Actress in a Comedy Series.
The HCA gave out two honorary awards to Eric Kripke for the TV Icon Award and Ariel Marx for the Artisan Spotlight Award.
The event was hosted by funny woman Aida Rodriguez and live-streamed worldwide on KNEKTtv and the HCA YouTube Channel.
