Today we share a report covering an audition tape which appears to give confirmation of America Chavez in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Now, this is not a smoking gun, for a start the video could be a fake. Secondly, there is no mention of America Chavez but it’s very hard not to connect that character given some of the dialogue.
The report comes from Murphy’s Multiverse and the video itself is embedded in their article. However, it does require a Vimeo account to watch, if you want to see it, go click the link in the source section below. But I’ll give you the gist if that’s a step you’re not prepared to take.
There is a lot of talk of realities and the Multiverse, as you would expect from this Doctor Strange movie. While that itself doesn’t indicate America Chavez, the following dialogue does in my opinion.
“A giant demon just took out a block of our city and tried to eat you” and “It didn’t try to eat me, it tried to abduct me.”
As Murphy himself said in the report,
“If you’re not familiar with America, the story here about an orphan (her mother’s died sacrificing themselves to save her) popping through the multiverse, unfamiliar with this Earth and is being chased by a demon certainly does not describe Zelma. If this is a legitimate video, it’s America Chavez/”

I must say I have to agree with Murphy here. Unless this video is a fake, which is possible. However, I find unlikely given all the recent casting rumors, that it’s not Chavez. Let’s face it, there has been a lot of America Chavez casting rumors for Doctor Strange, so this isn’t much of a leap. Now, what I would say, do not assume this is real dialogue from the movie. Most auditions these days use fake scripts. However, whether the dialogue makes it into the movie or not, is irrelevant. At the end of the day, this is the kind of audition you’d expect to see for America Chavez.
