According to a new report by THR, the Avengers: Doomsday cast will be added to, including possibly Chris Evans. We just this week had a massive cast announcement for Avengers: Doomsday and while there were surprises, the omissions were even more surprising.

Here’s what Borys Kit from the trade had to say,

‘Sources say that even with 26 actors announced, Marvel wasn’t done with revealing the entire cast, although when and how another unveiling would occur was unclear.’

Borys also had this to say on Chris Evans,

‘Notable names missing from the roll call included Tom Holland (Spider-Man) and Chris Evans (Captain America), the latter of whom is expected to appear at least one of the two-part movies.’

Of course it is possible Evans won’t show up till Secret Wars and therefore his omission is correct.

As for some other missing names, the three most glaring examples are Benedict Cumberbatch, Brie Larson and as said above, Tom Holland. Rumor wise we have an idea of the Holland situation, but more on that in the following article published today.

It could just be a case of some being kept for surprises. Perhaps some actors have scheduling issues that need to be worked out? It would certainly be odd for Captain Marvel to be absent from Doomsday. Whereas, I can see the thought process behind Strange and Spider-Man being kept for Secret Wars. Though Benedict Cumberbatch after initially saying he was not in Doomsday then declared he’d been told he was after all.
