Some updated information following NYCC this weekend, Avengers: Doomsday films this Spring, additionally another report says Tom Holland is in for Doomsday at least. The information comes from trades and first off we will start with Collider who spoke to the Russos at NYCC.
The sibling directing duo confirmed that production on Doomsday is set to kick off in Spring. It doesn’t seem like there is a completed script, but they continue working on that with writer Christopher Markus. The brothers also confirmed that this time around the movies won’t be shot ‘back to back. Infinity War and Endgame were shot that way with only a 2-4 week gap (depending on which brother you ask). How long exactly that gap will be they didn’t say.

In a second report from THR, they say Tom Holland will appear in Doomsday alongside RDJ. RDJ is currently one of the few confirmed actors outside of the Fantastic Four cast and Benedict Cumberbatch. The trade also reveals Holland has a busy schedule, beginning with Christopher Nolan’s new movie, then Doomsday, and then Spider-Man 4. Now, it would have been weird if Holland was not one of the leads of this movie. It’s also been rumored for a long time. Ergo, not new news, but somewhat more official due to the source. They also seem to confirm Zendaya is also returning.
‘Sources say that the actor will spend next year juggling this project (Nolan’s) as well as Spider-Man 4, with a likely stop for Avengers: Doomsday. Spider-Man 4 was delayed enough that Holland’s co-star Zendaya will now be shooting Dune 3 in early 2026 rather than next year.’
Avengers: Doomsday releases worldwide on May 1st, 2026.
So, Avengers: Doomsday films this Spring, but it won’t run back to back with Secret Wars. Meanwhile it looks like we have semi-official conformation that Tom Holland is in it. What do you think of the latest news? Thoughts below as always.
