Black Widow star Florence Pugh hints at MCU future. Read on for more details.
Black Widow is supposed to be coming in November, but most fans don’t think it will actually happen. No one has seen Black Widow yet, but many fans think Florence Pugh’s Yelena could become the new Black Widow character. Natasha Romanoff died in Avengers: Endgame, so we know the position is open. Black Widow will deal with earlier events set between Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War. Therefore there is potential for Natasha to ‘pass the torch’ to Yelena in Black Widow, but we simply don’t know for sure?
Pugh recently spoke to Games Radar, and she hinted that her time in the MCU may not be at an end.
“If you get asked to be in a Marvel film, and it was so thrilling and fun and exciting to be in, then of course, your head goes: ‘Oh my God, If this is what it’s like, then what else is next?’ If that happens and I am lucky enough that people appreciate my character, that’s an exciting road to go on. I would be silly to not be excited by it. I think that being part of the Marvel club is a great honour. But we’ll just see if people like Yelena first.”

Very coy, though one can guess she has a multi movie contract. If Yelena was going to return, I’m sure Pugh’s not allowed to tell us. That being said, Pugh’s excitement at what could come next is an indicator that she feels like there is more to come. Until fans see Black Widow, we won’t be able to accurately speculate on Yelena’s future. Some fans think that Yelena could be involved in a potential Thunderbolts movie or TV series.
Thunderbolts has been rumored for some time and it appears as though enough puzzle pieces are there to make a guess it’s being developed. That does not necessarily mean Pugh would be involved though. The character of Yelena could go down a different path and come back into the MCU elsewhere? At this point I would rule nothing out as far as Yelena’s future goes.
