We all had a bit of a scare last May when news hit that Fox had canceled the fan favorite comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Fan outcry was immediate, but luckily it didn’t take long for another network — in this case, NBC — to come in with a rescue. They snaked it away, purchasing a shortened sixth season (hopefully, it’ll extend to a seventh if it does well enough) and giving us more time with the characters we grew to love.
But when can we expect it to hit? Obviously, a fall release was out of the question, but when in the spring was most likely? Actor Terry Crews recently took to Instagram Live, and in it, he flat-out stated when we should be headed over to NBC — or at least what month it would be airing. Here’s what he said.

This is the deal, man. I’m so happy, man. Brooklyn Nine-Nine is coming back in January on NBC.”
Sounds great to me! Especially since Brooklyn Nine-Nine had, in the past, had a bad habit of airing really late in the spring following the holiday break. At least this way, it’ll be back sooner rather than later.
Additionally, instead of the initial 13 episodes we were promised for the reduced season, we’ll be getting 19 episodes, which isn’t that much shorter than a standard season. So when it rains come January it’ll keep on raining for weeks to come!
