MCU star Chris Evans has confirmed he will return for Avengers: Secret Wars after this December’s Avengers: Doomsday appearance. Evans character Steve Rogers bowed out and became an old man married to Peggy at the end of Endgame. However, we know both he and Peggy return in Doomsday and it’s rumored his decision to reman with Peggy is a big factor in the plot.
Whilst we won’t discuss any other rumors for Doomsday for reasons I’ve gone in to previously (leaked plot) we still have extremely limited knowledge on Secret Wars. Now as you can see from his post on Instagram, shared on X below, Evans conforms he is back for Secret Wars. He’s not saying how much of it he is in, but does confirm he begins filming in a few months.

“I can tell you that I start work on the next one in a couple of months. I can’t tell you how much I’m in the next one, but I’m in it.”

Does this mean Steve Rogers will survive the events of Doomsday? I’m not sure it really does given how we expect these movies to cover similar events in the comics. Still, since this is a Marvel movie I would expect most of anyone who perishes in Doomsday to come back in Secret Wars, even if just at the end. Perhaps one or two meaningful forever deaths, but than I am basing this on history and who knows what Marvel will do?
Whatever the story, one thing is for sure, Chris Evans is confirmed to return as Steve Rogers in Avengers: Secret Wars. Thoughts below as always.
