San Diego Comic-Con got a major dose of irreverent humor and nostalgia Thursday night as Comedy Central’s Adult Animation Panel brought down the house in the legendary Hall H. Over 6,000 fans packed the venue for a once-in-a-generation event featuring South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, Beavis and Butt-Head mastermind Mike Judge, and Digman! star and co-creator Andy Samberg.
Moderated by Josh Horowitz of Happy Sad Confused, the panel was a rare and riotous gathering of some of the most influential minds in adult animation. The event marked Parker and Stone’s first Comic-Con appearance in nearly a decade and featured candid behind the scenes stories, sneak peeks at upcoming projects, and a celebration of over 30 years of animated comedy that has left an undeniable mark on pop culture.
Each creator took time to reflect on their groundbreaking series. Parker and Stone shared new insights from the South Park writers’ room and teased what’s to come for the long-running series. Mike Judge offered updates on the continued antics of Beavis and Butt-Head, while Samberg gave fans a hilarious look at the making of Digman! and what’s ahead for the animated archeologist in season two.
The energy in the room was electric, with the panel striking the perfect balance between nostalgia and fresh excitement for the future of adult animation. Fans roared with laughter and applauded wildly as their favorite creators delivered surprise clips and unfiltered commentary on their creative journeys.
