According to the latest Star Wars Barside Buzz Daisy Ridley may also appears in Shawn Levy’s Star Wars movie. Whilst never formally announced it has been know for some time that Shawn Levy is developing a Star Wars movie for Lucasfilm. However, right now he is very busy filming Deadpool 3 for Marvel. Therefore, we have no real idea when this one would be ready? Or, I guess whether it even gets the greenlight to get that far?
Now Jeff Sneider on his The Insneider outlet says he’s heard Ridley may be back. Not just for the Obaid-Chinoy movie, but may also appear in Levy’s film.
In the article Sneider backed up others who said the Obaid-Chinoy Rey sequel was still moving ahead. Steven Knight set to hand in his draft soon as others have been told. Sneider thinks that The Mandalorian and Grogu will release in May 2026. He therefore thinks the Rey sequel will be dated around December of the same year.
Sneider details that Ridley is making $12.5M for this movie. Also that Lucasfilm are trying to get other sequel trilogy stars to return with weighty paychecks. He then says he’s heard Rey is also set to appear in Shawn Levy’s movie. Meaning we could assume Levy’s movie is also set in the New Jedi Order era of the franchise.
Finally Sneider predicts Mangold’s, Dawn of the Jedi prequel will arrive in December 2027. The Filoni directed Mandoverse movie will be arriving sometime in 2028.
RELATED: The Star Wars Rey Sequel Is NOT Cancelled Despite Rumors
For now this is all just rumor of course. However bear in mind that Sneider has been ahead of the trades at almost every step when it comes to Star Wars news over the last year. Sneider was describing details of the Rey sequel from Obaid-Chinoy back when it was rumor only. At that point in the process Damon Lindelof was developing the script. However Lucasfilm decided to go a slightly different way and Steven Knight was asked to draft a new version.
We know absolutely nothing about Levy’s movie beyond the fact he is keen to get the time to develop it properly. Levy does not want to blow his chance to write/direct a Star Wars movie.
Let’s hope there are some clever ideas for drama in Rey’s further adventures.
What do you think of this rumor that Daisy Ridley may also appear in Shawn Levy’s Star Wars movie? Thoughts below as always.
