Another piece of casting news for this show as Daredevil: Born Again adds Genneya Walton to the cast as revealed by Deadline. I assume this is not a huge role in Part 1/Season 1 which is filming now. There’s been no sign of Walton in recent set photos. However, who can say for certain as series are filmed in strange orders.

Here is what was reported by Deadline.

‘Genneya Walton (Candy Cane Lane) has been cast in the upcoming Marvel Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again.’

‘Character details are not being revealed but she is said to be playing a young journalist with connections to a character from the original series.’

There’s a good guess we can make here. Some of this is based on rumors, but I think this is a relation of Ben Ulrich, the journalist killed by Wilson Fisk in Daredevil. Ulrich was rather brutally dispatched by Fisk given that Ulrich had been writing things Fisk didn’t like. It is therefore possible Walton will take on that kind of role within Born Again. However, she may feature more in Part 2/Season 2 which is not currently scheduled for filming that I am aware of. No doubt Walton shows in in the first part filming now, but how much we cannot say.

For now we will just have to wait and see. Perhaps Walton will show up in some new set photo’s as filming continues? Perhaps she already shot her scenes pre-strikes and was just never noticed?

I do think Daredevil needs someone in the press. If Karen is back but perhaps marked for death (see link above) then introducing someone as determined to stop Fisk as Ben was is a good move.

I am looking forward to seeing Daredevil: Born Again, though we will have some time to wait yet.
