In a recent interview one of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 producers says they now have the freedom to do anything with the series. We also have a now official picture of that leaked black suit from a week or so ago. As per Empire Online, in a snippet from the latest Empire magazine,

“The landscape was open, and that was so liberating,” producer Sana Amanat tells Empire of Season 2.

“We were like, “We can do whatever we want.’” For Matt Murdock, that means building a vigilante army, while physically weakened after taking a bullet for – of all people – Wilson Fisk. As for Fisk, now Mayor of New York City, he’s at the height of his powers, cracking down on masked crusaders with his ‘Safer Streets Initiative’. “What does it mean for Fisk when he’s gotten everything he wants?” teases Amanat of where Born Again is going. “When you give a person whose thirst cannot be quenched his most valued treasure, is it enough? Or does he squeeze his treasure too hard?”

Do they man, there was little interference from Marvel in terms of what was and was not on the table? I’m not sure, but with the likes of Jessica Jones back and a real connection no to the earlier Daredevil series, I guess there are few restrictions. I mean, I’m betting they can’t just decide to have Tom Holland’s Spider-Man join the gang for an episode or two. So there are, some limits.

As for Jones (Krysten Ritter) return?

“[Jones] isn’t necessarily a team-up kind of person,” Amanat says. “So the reason she’s back is because it feels like it’s very personal. She brings edginess and lightness — Daredevil can be very dark and dramatic, and she cuts through the BS in a really fun way.”

I’ll say that Jessica Jones was always a better character when she showed up in other peoples shows than she was in her own. The dynamic between Matt and Jessica does work, so we have to look forward to once again.
