In a recent interview Dave Filoni gives some details about his upcoming Ahsoka series, albeit vaguely. Filoni discussed both runtimes and episode counts without confirming any details in a recent interview with Collider. You can catch the video below, but I’ll break down the main points.
Firstly Dave refused to be drawn on what else is being developed at Lucasfilm outside of what we know, despite the interviewers best efforts. Filoni then went on to refuse to clarify the episode count of Ahsoka, however did admit that somewhere between 8 and 10 episodes would be correct. Personally, I think we are looking at a very standard 8 Episodes based on Filoni’s words.
Filoni also discussed the runtime for Ahsoka. Again, Dave was vague, but he estimated around the same as The Mandalorian, perhaps slightly longer, on average. However, Filoni also said he does not yet have final cuts, so that could change. The writer and director also confirmed that he wrote all episodes on Ahsoka and confirmed that at least he of the directors name dwould have more than one episode as director.

Lastly, Dave was asked if fans would need to catch up on Rebels to enjoy Ahsoka? Whilst Filoni does want fans to watch Rebels, he also is adamant that it is not necessary. The plan is for Ahsoka to be accessible to anyone even if you have never watched Rebels. Though, he did say for anyone who wants a quick catch up, just watch Season 4. However, he hopes after that, you’ll go back and check it all out.
That about sums up all that Filoni was willing to share at the time of interview. I guess we’ll get a few more details over the next few months as we lead up to the August release date.
So, Dave Filoni gives some vague details about his upcoming Ahsoka series. What did you think about what Filoni had to say? as always, leave any thoughts in the usual spot below.
