With the upcoming release of DC’s streaming service, DC Universe, and the recent controversial trailer for Titans, the first series on the streaming service, everyone wants to know what comes next, and will it be worth their dollar?
DC has also announced several other live action shows for DC Universe, including Swamp Thing and Doom Patrol. But, with DCs shows sometimes being connected, and other times completely separate – while Marvel Studios perhaps relies too heavily on the shared MCU on TV, especially when the Netflix and ABC stuff never crosses over — we are left with the question how these two shows are connected to Titans, each other, or at all.
CNet reports that to make things confusing, Titans and Doom Patrol will be connected, with Doom Patrol exploring the stranger side of DC. Meanwhile, Swamp Thing, the stranger side of DC, will not be tied to other series at all and will take a more horror-inspired path.
SC Chief Creative Officer and Publisher Jim Lee had this comment on the issue, throwing a little shade Marvel’s way:
“We have no mandate to tie everything together.”
Any chance Swamp Thing could lead to Justice League Dark? Now that, I would buy the service for! As long as Matt Ryan continues to play Constantine as he has done on NBC and the CW.
Do you feel all three of these shows should be in the same universe, as they are all on the same streaming service? Come on, just make Swamp Thing fight the Titans once! Or is this path okay with you? Will you be getting DC Universe? Let us know in the comment section below.
