A few bits of DCU news today as Tim meadows joins Peacemaker Season 2, and we find out Greg Mottola will direct some episodes, plus we have a Creature Commandos release window. Let’s start with Peacemaker Season 2 which is filming right now.
We already knew three episodes would be directed by James Gunn himself, though he is also busy directing Superman. Therefore we now have another director named. According to Deadline, and later confirmed by James Gunn, Greg Mottola (Superbad) will direct some episodes of Peacemaker Season 2. Given the shows comedy tones, I think this is a really smart choice. Especially given that Gunn himself is setting the tone by directing the first 2-3 episodes himself.
Gunn also revealed that Tim Meadows (Mean Girls) would be joining the Season 2 cast as Langston Fleury. One assumes that Meadows will be one of Chris’s new ‘handlers’ in Season 2?
Really looking forward to this one as Season 1 of Peacemaker was solid quality TV.

However the first DCU project that will release we’ve always known is the animated Creature Commandos. Now we know roughly when Creature Commandos will premiere on Max. Appearing at Annecy International Animation Film Festival, WB finally revealed that Creature Commandos will premiere on Max this coming December. We do not have an exact date yet, but at least we know the animated show is arriving before the end of the year.
Next up after Creature Commandos is Superman next July, 2025. Given that it is filming now I would bet that Peacemaker Season 2 will follow on from Superman as the DCU’s first live-action show on Max.
What do you think of the news that Tim meadows joins Peacemaker Season 2 and Greg Mottola will direct some episodes? What about Creature Commandos getting a release window this December? As always, leave any thoughts you have below in the usual spot.
