Hideo Kojima has his eyes set on the future with a new game.
You can’t say Kojima Productions isn’t an ambitious company. Last year’s Death Stranding was quite the unique experience for gamers. Whether you liked it or not (and a lot of people didn’t), there weren’t really any other games like it. It stood out as something wholly different from the rest. Plus, in a world where a lot of AAA games play it safe, Death Stranding dared to be weird. It dared to be bold and spit in the face of conventional wisdom of what would make a best-selling game.
I honestly don’t know if Death Stranding is even considered a success by Kojima Productions. From what we’ve heard from Hideo Kojima himself, the game was, at the very least, not a flop. It managed to make millions in sales and at least break even. But was it a success? It’s hard to say. If nothing else, it has me interested to see where the studio goes next.
Hideo Kojima Has a New Game
Earlier this week, Kojima Productions put out a tweet announcing their new game. Sort of. Check out the tweet below.
#KojimaProductions confirms a new project is in development and is looking to hire the best-in-class talent to work out of our Tokyo studio. For more information on the openings and requirements, please visit our website at https://t.co/jeTGnnwLAW pic.twitter.com/StLOrxTlhg

Okay, so they weren’t really announcing the game as much as they were announcing a slate of job openings at Kojima Productions. In the tweet, they announce they are working on a new project and invite developers to join their team in Tokyo. They are currently looking for programmers, artists, writers, game designers, project managers, and producers.
As far as what this new game will actually be is anyone’s guess. I know for many years, fans tried to guess what Death Stranding would ultimately be. In the end, the game turned out to be an unpredictably Hideo Kojima experience. Now that he’s moved on beyond Metal Gear Solid, I think fans will be better able to accept that whatever the producer will work on next, it will be a game only he could make.
