Vincent D’Onofrio seemingly confirms we’re getting a Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. Plus we have some Barside Buzz around Kingpin’s plan in the MCU. First however, let’s get to the verifiable news.
In a recent interview with NewsWeek, D’Onofrio seems to confirm Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. Check it out.
“And, by the second season, there are gigantic, gigantic payoffs—in the first season, too, but I can’t say much about that—but the fans are gonna really get what they want. It’s really quite cool to be doing it.”
One spanner I may throw in the works is that were not sure if all 18 episodes of Daredevil: Born Again will run concurrently. Therefore, perhaps D’Onofrio is referring to part 2 of what we know as Season 1? That being said, I’m just playing devil’s advocate. If we go by the quote directly I’m not sure there’s really any other way we could take it?

Barside Buzz – Kingpin’s Plan
According to the folks at TCC, they’ve heard a few details around what goals Fisk may have in the upcoming MCU. We already know Fisk appears in Echo, and Daredevil: Born Again. However, TCC has heard that Fisk is trying to become the mayor of NYC. At some point in the future, the outlet says he will succeed. The outlet thinks we will see this begin in Echo and that Fisk will win his election by Born Again‘s close.
A part of Fisk’s plan as Mayor is to do something about masked vigilante’s. The outlet also says that Fisk will outsource for ways to deal with some of these heroes. I assume that’s after he’s outlawed them? Additionally, they say they’ve heard that the implications of this new policy will lead directly into the events of Spider-Man 4. There is apparently a lot of inspiration taken from the Dark Reign arc in the comics. Finally, the ripple effect from Fisk’s plan could be felt in the likes of Armor Wars, Captain America: New World Order, Thunderbolts and even Ms. Marvel Season 2.
As for accuracy, TCC has one of the best hit rates for Marvel out there right now. Additionally this is not the first time Fisk running for Mayor of NYC has come up in the rumors circle. This is just the first to suggest the impact this could have on the wider MCU. Perhaps, given what D’Onofrio says above, Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 will deal with Fisk getting his dues?
