Echo And Ironheart Production To Begin In 2022 Rumor

Alden Ehrenreich was coy on his Ironheart character

Echo and Ironheart production is to begin in 2022. OK folks, this one comes from Murphy’s Multiverse, so I’m not even gonna label it as a Barside Buzz. Now, whilst Ironheart was always expected to begin filming next year, Echo is more of a surprise. That’s because as yet Echo is not officially a go at Marvel Studios. Echo will be first introduced in the Hawkeye Disney+ series. We therefore assume, despite all the buzz, Marvel are trying to keep the character’s own series a secret. So far Marvel are doing a really bad job, because an Echo show has been rumored for some time.

Murphy’s Multiverse has one of the very best records with Marvel leaks out there right now. Therefore if the outlet is confident enough to report on this information I have to assume it is legit. Echo will continue the story of Maya Lopez, played by Alaqua Cox. As per set photo’s from Hawkeye we know Lopez’ story begins in that show. Variety described Echo as ‘in early development’ when it was first reported by them. However Murphy’s suggest it must have been fast tracked, as Echo is set to begin shooting in January of next year. Whereas Ironheart, already officially announced, will not begin production until April of next year.

Ironheart of course we know a little more about. Ironheart will star Dominic Thorne as Riri Williams, a spiritual successor to Tony Stark in the MCU. The show was announced back in the December Disney Investor Day, but we’ve heard little since. It is speculated by fans that Williams could first show up in Armor Wars before getting her own show. If so, that would also follow a similar pattern to Echo who will first show up in Hawkeye. However, be warned that really is just fan speculation for now.

As the outlet points out though, this could change. I feel confident these are the current set dates, but we’ve seen projects move up and slip back many times over the last few years for Marvel. One would. Are you excited for Echo and Ironheart production to begin, or would you rather wait and see how the characters are translated to screen first? As usual, leave any thoughts below.
