One of the most anticipated movies this month will be the noir crime thriller Last Night in Soho from Edgar Wright.
The mystery film plays like a 1960s psychological thriller as a woman witnessed a murder that occurred in the past through her dreams. With pieces of the dream, she tries to seek justice for the victim as the supposed murderer is still alive in her current time period.
The film stars Anya Taylor-Joy (The Queen’s Gambit, The New Mutants), Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie (Leave No Trace, Jojo Rabbit), Matt Smith (Doctor Who, The Crown), Terence Stamp (The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, Superman), Diana Rigg (On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, Game of Thrones), Rita Tushingham (The Knack…and How to Get It, A Taste of Honey), Michael Ajao (Attack the Block), and Synnove Karlsen (The Midwich Cuckoos, Midici).
Here’s the official synopsis of Last Night In Soho:
In acclaimed director, Edgar Wright’s psychological thriller, Eloise, an aspiring fashion designer, is mysteriously able to enter the 1960s where she encounters a dazzling wannabe singer, Sandie. But the glamour is not all it appears to be and the dreams of the past start to crack and splinter into something far darker.

Krysty Wilson Cairns wrote the screenplay with Wright.
Typically, crime mystery noirs are based on those 40s and 50s stories. However, this 1960s setting is a refreshing take on the genre and with a possible supernatural twist towards things with a woman’s dreams.
Of course, Edgar Wright released the song playlist that inspired him to write the screenplay with Wilson-Cairns. There are 60 songs from the 1960s playlist that helped him craft the story. A few of the songs included Berts Apple Crumble, For Your Love, Hush, Don’t Ever Let Me Go, and many more.
Last Night in Soho is in theaters on October 29.
