What’s a Star Wars movie without an epic lightsaber battle or two? Well, it looks like director J. J. Abrams seems to be making sure we get just that. BBC is reporting that Miltos Yerolemou has joined the cast of Episode VII.
Yerolemou most famously played expert swordsman Syrio Forel on HBO’s Game of Thrones. He’s also played other roles that required his expertise with a sword, so it stands to reason that it’s this talent of his that Abrams is looking to exploit as well. The report claims that the role isn’t thought to be a major one. But it could still be cool to see him pop up for some sort of quick, intense lightsaber throwdown.
Yerolemou joins Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, John Boyega, and many others in this epic cinematic relaunch of the Star Wars franchise. Principal photography on the film recently resumed, following a brief break to allow Ford time to recuperate from an on-set injury.
Star Wars: Episode VII is slated to arrive in theaters on Christmas in 2015.
Now if they could just hire who ever it was that handled the fight choreography for the Starz Spartacus series…
