San Diego Comic-Con is set to offer fans a unique glimpse into the making of Peacock’s highly anticipated series, “Those About to Die,” with an exclusive behind-the-scenes panel and immersive activation event.

Ahead of the SDCC panel, an exclusive behind-the-scenes featurette has been released, providing fans with a watermarked version for viewing only. The private YouTube link will go live at 4:00 PM PT / 7:00 PM ET on Thursday, July 25. This featurette promises to offer an insider’s look at the creation of the gladiatorial epic, showcasing the intense preparation and dedication of the cast and crew.
SDCC Panel: Behind-the-Action of ‘Those About to Die’
The creators and stars of “Those About to Die” joined the panel for an in-depth discussion at San Diego Comic-Con. Executive producer and director Roland Emmerich, along with cast members Iwan Rheon, Sara Martins, Moe Hashim, Jojo Macari, Dimitri Leonidas, and Gabriella Pession, will provide exclusive insights into the making of the series. Attendees will dive into the Roman Empire’s intersection of sports, politics, and dynasties as depicted in the show.

SDCC Activation: ‘Those About to Die: The Chariot Race’
For an even more immersive experience, head to the Gaslamp District for “Those About to Die: The Chariot Race.” This activation brings the ancient Circus Maximus to life, allowing participants to step inside a betting tavern, join one of the five factions from the show, and experience the thrill of a chariot race. Guests will get the chance to power their team’s chariot to victory by whipping a pair of reins.

All 10 episodes of “Those About to Die” premiered on Thursday, July 18 on Peacock, just in time for viewers to also watch the 2024 Paris Olympics. Every event of the Summer Games will stream live on Peacock, with the Opening Ceremony coverage beginning on July 26 at Noon ET on NBC and Peacock.
