Below we have an extended Obi-Wan Kenobi clip of a moment we have seen in the trailer. Specifically Owen and Kenobi discussing Luke and his future. the clip was shown on the Lorraine show which is a network show on U.K. TV stations. Check it out on social media below.

There are not much in the way of spoilers Here. All this clip really does is give us a lead in to that sick burn Owen gives Obi-Wan in the trailer. I guess it’s interesting that Owen calls him Ben and not Obi-Wan. If that is the name used throughout, other than by those seeking Obi-Wan and Vader, I do wonder whether the show should have been called Ben Kenobi. That title alone tells you this is a story set after he stopped using the name Obi-Wan. Of course, I’m probably alone in this one as I reckon most fans simply won’t give a damn about the name of the show. Alternatively I’d have preferred just Kenobi.

Some of these smaller moments between Ben and Owen are what I am looking forward to most from this show, surprisingly. For a start Joel Edgerton is a great actor who got nothing to do in the prequels. Then we have McGregor, another great actor who got little acting to do in those movies either. This verbal sparring between the two is more in line with what I had in my head before the prequels were released.
I think it’s important for us to understand where Owen was coming from in banning Ben from coming near Luke. Luke in A New Hope definitely knows of Ben Kenobi, though one imagines not very well. After all Luke describes him as an old hermit that lives beyond the Dune Sea. And clearly what he does know of Ben is what he has heard from his Uncle Owen. Not long to wait now folks.
