Tom Holland as Nathan Drake?
I would be the first to laugh. A few years ago, yours truly was on the bandwagon of Nathan Fillion as Nathan Drake for the potential Uncharted movie. In fact, I got massive retweeted support from Fillion as I wrote the article on this site. His look and mannerism fit the character perfectly.
Alas, we didn’t get our wish. Instead, the studio developing the Uncharted movie decided to go with someone far younger and more well known as Spider-Man. I became a skeptic.
With a simple Tweet from the studio and an Instagram post from Tom Holland, I’ve changed my mind. In the pic, he looked the part as the handsomely, dashing adventurer in far off places. Not to mention, his Spider-Man humor can possibly work with the sarcastic humor style of the video character. At least, he knows how to climb walls and jump from one obstacle to another.

The rest of the cast includes Antonio Banderas, Tati Gabrielle, Sophia Ali, and Mark Wahlberg, who plays Nathan Drake’s mentor Victor Sullivan. Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland) directs the film from the screenplay written by Matt Holloway and Art Marcum.
Unlike the video games from Naughty Dog, the Uncharted movie is the prequel to the video games with a younger Drake. It tells the story of how he came to meet and befriend Sully.
On Holland’s Instagram post, he wrote, “It’s nice to meet you. I’m Nate #uncharted.”
Uncharted is on pace for theaters next year on July 16.
