Finally the first teaser trailer for DC Studios Superman is here and it’s awesome! Check it out for yourself below and then check what I thoughts afterwards.

The music and a lot of the teases leading up to this had already sold me to be honest. However, I was eager to see if the visuals would match my expectations. They did.

The opening little section with Krypto was nice, and yet it was this part that worried me the most going on, from descriptions. There’s so much going on I’m not even going to attempt to break it all down based on the rumors, and BTS shots we had. It just looks so busy and interesting and that’s the beauty of stepping into an already established Universe as the new DCU will be presented.

Obviously for now it’s hard to give any major thoughts on the casting outside of visually. This was just a teaser and thus we don’t hear anyone actually speak. The purpose of a teaser is to say, ‘hey, here this is, do you like what you see? Keep your eyes peeled for more.’ Therefore, for me, this teaser does it’s job very well.

There are a few shots in there which surprised me, an some faces I did not recognise. I’m not 100% sure what is all going on, but that’s the idea. Lex (Nicholas Hoult) immediately looks a huge step up from the version we had in the previous DCEU/SnyderVerse.

So far, as said above, all I can say is that everybody looks great. I like the colour of the film, it feels comic booky, and it certainly gets my bum in a seat come opening weekend. I’m such a opinionated so and so when it comes to film scores though. So to have Williams theme back and to hear it played in different ways was the touch that makes me feel like Superman is back.
