As announced yesterday, HBO has released the first trailer for Game of Thrones spin-off series A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. The show follows main characters ‘Dunk’ and ‘Egg’ on a series of adventures in the lower levels of Westeros society.
The series will adapt the first book in creator George R. R. Martin’s series, The Hedge Knight.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms comes to HBO on January 19. No decision has yet been made on whether the show will return for Season 2.

As I said already in the related article above from yesterday, I’m looking forward to this. Mainly because I have not actually read the ‘Dunk and Egg’ books on which the series is based. Ergo, I’m going in blind, which I could not say for the likes of House of the Dragon.
These Westeros based shows do tend to have stellar opening seasons. Both Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon were brilliant adaptations initially. Post- Season 4 of Thrones and from Season 2 of HotD though, things took a downward turn. We can but hope HotD Season 3 will be an improvement. However, I have a bad feeling about that one and I hope to be very wrong.
