Every season that goes by in Game of Thrones seems to make it even harder to let the series go. After all these years of seeing this Shakespearean in scope drama play out, it’s inevitable end is becoming an even greater reality.
However, those who were left wanting to see how this all plays out sooner will be disappointed to hear that HBO won’t be delivering the final season of the show until 2019.

While we don’t have a month or exact date, actress Sophie Turner seemed all too confident in her interview with Variety that 2019 would indeed be the year. If that wasn’t enough, the actress even stated that they still have about six or seven months of production left to go on Season 8, and with that in mind an early 2019 release date isn’t completely insane, especially since each episode is set to be around feature length.
This isn’t the first we’ve heard about a potential 2019 release date. The series has been slowly pushing back its release dates for years now, and last years saw it get pushed from spring to summer. Given that they want to make sure they’re able to make the show go out with a bang, it’s key that they get this write.
