We’ve known for some time that the Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers were getting a cinematic reboot. And now we know who will don one of those iconic costumes, namely the Pink One. Last night, the film’s official Instagram account posted the following image, revealing that Naomi Scott will be the new Pink Ranger.
Scott is amidst a bit of a coming out party, now that she’s currently in the #1 movie in the country: The Martian. The Ridley Scott film is a stunning success so far, with a big opening weekend haul at the box office and stellar reviews, and it looks like the folks behind the new Power Rangers movie wish to capitalize on that fact by announcing the casting of Scott.
Dean Israelite (Project Almanac) is directing the new big screen take on the long-running kids TV show. Power Rangers is set to premiere on January 13, 2017.
