The cast that includes Millie Bobby Brown, Vera Farmiga, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Thomas Middleditch, and director Michael Dougherty hit the stage following a bone-rattling intro that showed Godzilla’s spines and tail swing around. The words “Long Live The King” hit the screen, followed by the Godzilla: King of the Monsters logo.
You can’t the king of the monsters without other monsters, right? That subtitle holds the key. The director named off a handful of monsters, hinting at the fact that there may be more monsters than the three others we were initially told. Thomas Middleditch then jokes they also have Dracula!
Farmiga and Middleditch play MONARCH agents. The cat is out of the bag in this film, and it’s their mission to preserve the creatures. The movie also deals with the question of what happens now that the world knows about these monsters.
