The rise of Nazi leader Adolf Hitler is often credited to propagandist Joseph Goebbels, who can mobilize the masses into a single belief. With the help of archival footage and documents, Goebbels and the Führer narrates the last years and friendship between Goebbels and Hitler before their demise.
The historical docudrama stars Robert Stadlober (Andrea Gets a Divorce, Summer Storm), Franziska Weisz (The Swarm, Stations of the Cross), and Fritz Karl (Sisi, The Silent Mountain).
Goebbels and the Führer is directed and written by Joachim A. Lang (Mack The Knife—Brechts Threepenny Film).
Here is the film description:
The film follows the rise and fall of Adolf Hitler’s “Minister of Propaganda,” Joseph Goebbels, in his last seven years by Hitler’s side. While Hitler is at the height of his power, Goebbels is the cunning architect of the imagery and words powering the support of the genocidal Third Reich. As the Nazis face defeat in Stalingrad in early 1943, Goebbels plans his most radical propaganda act of his regime.
