As per the headline, today sees an announcement that Joe Staten joins 343 Industries to help finish Halo: Infinite. Joseph Staten was one of the key story creatives at Bungie who originally created the Halo franchise. Bungie left Halo with Microsoft and went off on their own to make Destiny, and Joe Staten went with them. However, things did not go well and Staten left Bungie before Destiny was released. As you can see from the post below, Staten is back in the Halo franchise again.
I'm thrilled to join @Halo to help them ship Halo Infinite. As the project lead for the Infinite Campaign, I will be supporting the team's existing, great leaders and empowering them to do their best work. https://t.co/pQiNPQVBZs

Many Destiny fans, including friends of mine believe many of Destiny’s early problems with narrative were down to Staten leaving. Frankly, it took a long time for Bungie to get Destiny‘s story back on track. So Staten leading this Halo campaign is good news story wise for me. Saying that, I also think this points to how unfinished Halo: Infinite really is. If Staten is there to help get the campaign finished on time, it tells me there were some issues.

Halo: Infinite does not currently have a release date, but is expected to debut sometime next year. Originally it was supposed to be an Xbox Series X launch game until the recently announced delays. Since then there have been a lot of crazy rumors around Halo: Infinite. Those rumors have all been addressed and debunked by 343 and this latest news proves the focus is on getting the game finished. You can catch that story in the related section above. Hopefully the addition of Staten will mean the game’s story will be on par with the earlier games?
