There’s been a lot to report on as of late regarding the supposedly-currently-untitled Bond 25. Of course, production began in Jamaica not too long ago, and soon after that, the drama began. Daniel Craig hurt his foot, an explosion injured someone, there were rumors surrounding director Cary Fukunaga’s supposed lack of engagement with the project…but despite all that, we still had no title.
Until now. Maybe. We’ll see. According to the James Bond fansite MI6 HQ, Bond 25 actually did have a title, and that the studio was planning on revealing it during the April 25 Jamaica streaming event where production was announced. However, the title was considered “not Bond enough” and pulled from the event.

The title in question? A Reason to Die.

What do you think? Yea? Nay? The site says the title has roots in the source material in 1963’s On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, when Draco asks if he will give the character Tracy “a reason to live.” Is that really enough of a connection to make it worth being a Bond title?
I’m not sure.
I’ve reached out to my own source regarding this potential title, and will update this story if they are able to corroborate. In the meantime, you can either celebrate or lament that A Reason to Die will likely not be the next Bond film’s name.
