Henry Cavill is apparently on the hunt for work, recently we shared a story that the Superman actor was touting himself as a possible new Bond. Whilst I can sort of see him in that role, I’m not so sure about the next job he is after.

Now Cavill has expressed his interest in playing the role of Geralt of Rivia in Netflix new series based on The Witcher novels by Andrzej Sapkowski. Talking with IGN whilst promoting Mission: impossible – Fallout Cavill told the outlet he had just finished playing through The Witcher 3 video game and how awesome it was (I agree, Henry, it’s a masterpiece). He was asked if he would be interested in playing the role of Geralt in the upcoming show, here is what the actor said.
“Absolutely. Yeah, that would be an amazing role.”
While this is not quite him actively campaigning for the role, he does at least have a good knowledge base about the source novels.
“The books are amazing, the books are really, really good… The books I started reading, and they are well worth a read.”
Well, I’m afraid here is one fan of The Witcher that does not think you are a fit for the role, sorry, Mr. Cavill. I just don’t see any connection there at all to what Geralt needs to be. Cavill cast as Geralt feels to me like the kind of thing Hollywood would have done in the 80’s rather than how things work now.
Anyone disagree with me and thinks Cavill would make a great Geralt in Netflix’s The Witcher? Sound off in the usual place below.
