The Highlander reboot production has been delayed as lead star Henry Cavill is injured in practice during pre-production. Filming had been due to begin soon on the fantasy reboot.
As per Deadline,
‘We hear that Henry Cavill was injured during pre-production while training for Amazon MGM Studios’ United Artists Highlander set. As a result, production will be delayed on the Chad Stahelski directed reboot of the cult IP until likely top of next year.’
For now there’s no word on whether this will delay a still unannounced release date for the film. Word had been 2027, or 2028 when we last heard talk of it. Maybe this means 2028? However, I’m also not sure why a film that had begun production in 2025 would required till 2028 to get it in theatres.
Even a January/Feb starting in 2026 would not rule out a late 2027 release.

As you can see above, it was only just days ago we found out Djimon Hounsou would play an African Immortal. Hounsou joins Cavill (MacLeod), Dave Bautista (Kurgen), Russell Crowe (Ramirez), Karen Gillian (Heather) and Maris Abela who is tipped to play the modern love interest of Connor.
