The Mayor of Kingstown is back and Hugh Dillon with more fucks, scratchers and gum chewing. Dillon has been playing the go-to character, “Ian” who is constantly looking out for all McClunky brothers and the townies. However this season he will have to also focus on saving his own skin as the past actions are shadowing back. This season there’s Laura Benanti joining as a new officer working in the prison. She plays Cindy Stephens, a character that I hope viewers will like as much as I have as she brings a needed fresh air.
The Synopsis
In season four, Mike’s (Jeremy Renner, “The Hurt Locker”) control over Kingstown is threatened as new players compete to fill the power vacuum left in the Russians’ wake, compelling him to confront the resulting gang war and stop them from swallowing the town. Meanwhile, with those he loves in more danger than ever before, Mike must contend with a headstrong new Warden to protect his own while grappling with demons from his past.

Hugh Dillon is a Canadian actor, musician and writer. While most of us know him for his work on television and film the music world knows him as the vocalist of the punk rock band Headstones. A band that initiated in his hometown, Kingston, Ontario in 1983, broke up in 2003 and reunited in 2011. This past September they released their last album Burn All The Ships. Dillon is known for the series Durham County, Flash Point, I Still See You with Bella Throne and Yellowstone among several other projects.

Laura Benanti is also a singer and made her debut in 1998 as “Maria von Trapp” in The Sound of Music Live! Broadway revival. Theater has been a regular part of her career and has helped her earn her Tony Award for Best Feature Actress in the Gypsy musical revival for her performance as “Louise.” And another nomination for Swing! Benanti is known for her ongoing role as First Lady Melania in The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Worth, No Hard Feelings and Life & Beth. Her next project is The Ditch with Chris Diamantopoulos.

I had the opportunity to speak with Hugh Dillon and Laura Benanti about Mayor of Kingstown season four. Dillon discussed how the ending of season three opens the continuation of what “Ian” faces in the new season. As well as getting to wear different hats in the series and a background of his hometown that caters as a co-creator. While Benanti spoke about being the newbie and how she in a way has similarities to “Kyle McLusky” played by Taylor Handley and more!
The Mayor of Kingstown season four premieres October 26, 2025 followed by a weekly episode every Sunday.
